This seven-night circumnavigation of Ireland serves up a full-flavoured taste of the Emerald Isle, showcasing authentic and iconic highlights throughout. Visiting five wonderfully welcoming and rewarding destinations, you’re in for a real treat, with chances to sample famous tipples, uncover fascinating history, take in must-see attractions and more.
Beginning your enriching journey south of the Irish border, the delights of Dun Laoghaire await your discovery. Stroll along the East Pier Walk, past the Victorian bandstand, as brightly coloured boats sail in and out of the harbour. Continuing the theme of relaxation, breathe in the heady floral scents of the People's Park and wander around the perfectly manicured lawns, before visiting the weekend market of art collections and delicious local produce. Then there’s Cobh, a joy to explore with its brightly coloured harbour and impressive cathedral. Cobh is where many of the Titanic’s passengers embarked on her fateful voyage and the fantastic Titanic Experience is a must-visit to explore the town’s links to the ill-fated ocean liner.
Along the south-west coast, Borealis will sail picturesque bays and by the magnificent metamorphic mountains of Connacht and Ulster, to present you with a snapshot of some of Ireland’s most spectacular scenic regions, before arriving at Galway. This charming city boasts centuries of fascinating history; exploring the remnants of the medieval town here will reveal plenty of interesting historical sites, such as the Spanish Arch. Then it’s on to Killybegs, a picturesque town situated within the valleys and rolling hills of the County Donegal’s beautiful Wild Atlantic Way. Here a tour to the stunning Bluestack Mountains is highly recommended, though you may opt to relax at Fintragh Bay, one of Ireland’s best beaches. Finally, a visit to Belfast, Northern Ireland’s attraction-packed capital offers you the chance to explore the city’s legendary connection to Titanic at the Titanic Belfast exhibition; visit the historic steamship SS Nomadic; and marvel at the Renaissance-style City Hall. Belfast is also your gateway to the incredible geological wonders of the Giant’s Causeway, Northern Ireland’s only UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site.
